Jackie Tobian-Steinmann ’52 coached the UCLA women’s golf team for 22 years (1977-99). Her teams won five conference titles and a national championship in 1991 after a runner-up finish in 1990. UCLA finished in the Top 10 nationally 12 times, won 43 tournaments and qualified for the NCAA Championship 14 straight seasons (1984-97), a school record. She has been called “one of the original pioneers of women’s collegiate golf,” and is honored in theUCLA Hall of Fame and also the National Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
